Because Sportbike theft is such a huge problem combined with the fact most of the participants are young criminals, starting a Sportbike investigation is very easy to do. In my class I cover some of the sources that can help with starting Sportbike investigations that does not take alot of experience. Most Sportbike thieves I have been in contact with are not the hard core biker types but younger criminals with little or no record. Once the investigation starts it usually branches out quickly due to the fact that many of these individuals are associated with clubs.
California continues to have a very big problem with Sportbike thefts. Although not number one in thefts per capita, California leads with the number of stolen motorcycles in the US.
